Founder Matt Ingles has over a decade of "Big Law" experience, having practiced at some of the most prominent firms in Manhattan and Los Angeles and repeatedly being recognized as a "Rising Star" by SuperLawyers. Over the last several years, Matt has shifted his focus from bet-the-company litigation to real estate transactions, helping clients buy and sell properties throughout central Texas.
Now, with the founding of The Ingles Law Firm, Matt is able to combine his two areas of expertise and offer legal guidance to both his real estate clients and other businesses and individuals in their most important matters.
Matt has vast experience in successfully navigating complex business disputes, and routinely counsels clients on a wide variety of issues where the client’s business and the law intersect. He has helped achieve highly favorable results for some of the world’s most prominent technology companies, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals, and is regarded as being both pragmatic and creative in his approach to navigating his clients’ most difficult challenges.
Matt has significant experience with a wide-range of legal issues, having litigated cases and advised on issues involving real estate, breach of contract, fraud, business torts, defamation, consumer class actions, unfair competition, trade secrets, antitrust, securities and investments, and government investigations. Matt has been involved in several noteworthy disputes that have resulted in his cases being covered by the national press, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Hollywood Reporter.
Prior to practicing at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and Greenberg Gross LLP, where he was a partner, Matt cut his teeth as a prosecutor in the Kings County District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn, NY.
Matt obtained his law degree, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a Senior Editor of the Law Review, competed on the Interscholastic Moot Court Board, and served as a Teaching Fellow in contract law. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, cum laude, from Loyola University Maryland, where he played ice hockey.
Matt is licensed to practice law in Texas, New York, California (inactive), and New Jersey (retired), and is a licensed Texas Realtor with tens of millions of dollars in transactions to date.

- Served as trial counsel in successful two week arbitration concerning breach of a manufacturing and marketing contract between a non-profit entity and a consumer goods company. Ingles helped lead a team that secured victory on both affirmative breach of contract claims and on the opposing party’s breach of contract and fraud counterclaims.
- Served as lead trial counsel in weeklong arbitration stemming from a "business divorce" between two founders of a construction company in San Diego. Obtained successful defense verdict on all counts, with attorney's fees and costs awarded in the client's favor.
- Co-lead counsel in high-stakes civil RICO and breach of contract action with more than $130 million at issue, representing a publicly traded digital sales and marketing company.
- As lead counsel, secured dismissal of all claims against a well-known actor in a business fraud case.
- Successfully represented outdoor media company in several lawsuits involving highly valuable commercial real estate in Los Angeles, including one lawsuit in which Mr. Ingles successfully argued against summary adjudication.
- Obtained judgment on the pleadings and summary judgment for an energy cooperative in federal litigation concerning the commercial lease of a power plant in North Dakota.
- Served as lead counsel to a French nutraceutical company in federal litigation arising out of a commercial real estate transaction. Case settled on favorable terms.
- Represented major investment bank in its divestiture litigation over a $22 billion real estate investment trust. After an expedited trial before the Southern District of New York, the court found for the bank on all issues, allowing it to dispose of several billion dollars in disputed assets.
- Represented two major investment banks in multiple litigations over each banks’ sales of hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of residential mortgage backed securities.
- Advisor to start-up skincare brand since inception. Assisted in forming the company, advised on fund raising and various legal issues faced by a nascent company.
- Lead counsel to a publicly traded meat-alternative company in a breach of contract action brought by a high-profile investor in emerging companies related to his purported advisor agreement with the company. After persuasive briefing on a motion to bifurcate, Plaintiff voluntarily dismissed case without settlement.
- Represented the world’s largest software company in a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against the world’s largest cellular phone company in the Southern District of New York concerning the effect of a major acquisition on the companies’ patent cross-license agreement.
- Secured dismissal of all claims and affirmance by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on behalf of world’s largest software company in federal antitrust and intellectual property litigation. Successfully defeated plaintiff’s motion for certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.
- Lead counsel in trade secret misappropriation action in federal court involving the development of fruit juice concentrate in China. Successfully obtained dismissal of the action in its entirety on motions to dismiss and to deny amendment to the pleadings.
- Represented the world’s largest consumer drone manufacturer in a consumer class-action suit in California state court concerning false advertising claims. Settled case on favorable terms.
- Represented French nutraceutical company in a federal consumer class-action litigation concerning false advertising claims related to a weight loss supplement. Settled case on favorable terms.
- Counsel for a world-famous entertainer in an action before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, resulting in both his criminal conviction and sentence being vacated and retrial being prohibited.
- Handled hundreds of cases in Brooklyn Criminal Court as "line prosecutor" and first-chair trial counsel.
